Captain Edward Wakefield commissioned the original Waterbird from A. V. Roe & Co., and Herbert Stanley Adams flew it. Today, the replica Waterbird stands alone since there is no other airworthy replica seaplane anywhere in the world that dates within 25 years of 1911.
